Customer is attempting to delete a virtual machine (VM) or snapshot from which a child VM was created.

      • A snapshot was created from an existing VM.
      • A new VM was launched using that snapshot.
      • An attempt was made to delete the original VM from which the snapshot was created.

Based on our understanding, this behavior is expected. When a new VM (child) is created from a snapshot, it maintains a dependency on the parent image or snapshot. Therefore, the parent VM or snapshot cannot be deleted while the child VM still exists.

Could you please confirm whether there is any workaround or available option that would allow the parent VM to be deleted after a child VM has been created?
