What is the main user goal aka job to be done?
- As a virtualization administrator, I want to understand how to use script hooks (runscript and bootscript) during VM migration so that I can automate guest OS customizations and reduce manual post-migration configuration tasks.
- As a cloud architect, I want to design a migration strategy that leverages script hooks for network reconfiguration so that I can ensure migrated VMs maintain connectivity and function correctly in the OpenStack environment.
- As a system engineer, I want to customize the network_config.sh template to handle my organization's specific network configuration (NetworkManager, sysconfig, or netplan) so that I can guarantee network interface names and MAC address mappings are preserved after migration.
- As a DevOps professional, I want to create and test custom bootscripts in a non-production environment so that I can validate first-boot automation (e.g., agent installation, cloud-init setup) before executing large-scale migrations.
- As a migration engineer, I want to troubleshoot script hook failures during V2V conversion so that I can quickly identify and resolve issues that block VM migrations.
