Migration from Jira enterprise to Jira cloud is scheduled for Dec 2025 or Jan 2026.

We need to prepare updates to our gitlab release note project configurations so that our integration with Jira works with Jira cloud.

Marc Muehlfeld tested updates to the similar RHEL gitlab release note project configurations to work with Jira cloud, and the tests were successful.

We need to prepare. Maybe that prep will include tests of our own.

      Marc's email on the subject:

I updated acorns to support both our current on-premise Jira and the
Atlassian Cloud backends. Valentina Ashirova and I tested acorns and the
GitLab pipelines against the UAT environment and everything worked as
      expected.

After Jira has been migrated to the cloud, RN maintainers must update
the RN repositories and their GitLab settings. See [1].

From the Atlassian Cloud FAQ [2]:

      > "target migration window is currently between mid-December
      > and mid-January."

Please note that I'm not available between December and mid-January for
family reasons. If you have any questions, please ping me on Slack
      before Dec 03.

      Regards,
      Marc
