Important
1) Currently the 1.1 Prerequisites in the deployment guide point to the Infrastructure and system requirements chapter of the Planning your deployment guide.
Based on stakeholder feedback, it is not obvious what prerequisite operators you need before installing openstack-operator. "I constantly see people having problems with their deployments not completing because COO is not installed for telemetry-operator."
I suggest updating the prerequisites with each specific link within the "Infrastructure and system requirements" chapter, and providing a brief summary of the content each link provides, e.g.,:
- An operational RHOCP cluster, version 4.18. For the RHOCP system requirements, see Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform cluster requirements in Planning your deployment.
- Review the minimum hardware requirements for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP) cluster that hosts your Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift (RHOSO) control plane. For more information, see RHOCP hardware requirements.]
- Review the minimum network requirements...For more information, see [RHOCP network requirements|https://docs.redhat.com/en/documentation/red_hat_openstack_services_on_openshift/18.0/html/planning_your_deployment/assembly_infrastructure-and-system-requirements#ref_RHOCP-network-requirements_planning.
- Review the RHOCP software requirements, particularly the prerequisite operators to install before you install the openstack-operator. For more information, see RHOCP software requirements.]
2) There was also a suggestion to add a step to perform CLI steps to check that the Operators are installed. Please discuss with the engineers.
3) If there are any other steps that must be done before installing the openstack-operator, consider calling that out specifically in the prerequisites.
