Goal:

This epic addresses the issues (including consistent foreign errors and lock table timeouts) occurring during the purging of deleted rows operation in the cinder-manage tool when dealing with large amounts of data in target tables. This has been consistently reported by several customers in different situations, as in the following support cases:

Acceptance Criteria:

• Have the bug fixes proposed and tested upstream;
• Have the bug fixes merged upstream;
• have the backports up to 2023.2 merged upstream;
• Provide downstream backports for 18.x, 17.x, 16.2.x
• Provide proper details on its related support cases.
