Cannot delete images when hash calculation is on-going in background

      To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

      1. Create an instance snapshot
      2. Delete the image (while hash calculation is on-going in background)

      Expected behavior

      • Image should be deleted

      Bug impact

      • Users who were previously able to delete images created using the optimized instance snapshots are no longer able to delete it.

      Known workaround

      • Disable secure hash calculation ``do_secure_hash``

      Additional context

      • The failure is currently blocking upstream gate for nova, glance and cinder
