This Epic targets basic enablement of NetObserv operator for RHOSO Control Plane pods.

The goal here is to make sure that NetObserv installation to monitor network traffic between RHOSO pods is possible and supported for RHOSO. The target is both production and development/CI environments.

When this Epic is complete,

• it is easy to install NetObserv monitoring RHOSO pods in production;
• it is also easy to stand up a RHOSO cluster with NetObserv for development;
  • this will require changes in install-yamls and such;
• it is integrated with OCP Monitoring Operator that is also installed;
• the process is documented and tested in CI;
  • there are upstream and downstream jobs that successfully deploy the stack (NetObserv and OCP Cluster Monitoring).

What is not covered here:

• installing NetObserv components on Compute nodes;
• feeding any network events from Dataplane nodes;
• enrichment of events with OpenStack metadata;
• any custom dashboards or views for OpenStack topology etc.

This Epic is the very first step towards tighter integration of NetObserv with OpenStack services. Further linked Epics will improve the integration.

This Epic is expected to produce little or no OpenStack operator code changes.
