      Feature Overview
This feature addresses the process of upgrading from a Red Hat OpenStack Platform (RHOSP) 17.1 Distributed Compute Node (DCN) architecture to Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift (RHOSO) 18, utilizing the adoption mechanism. The DCN architecture is ideal for edge use cases, allowing remote compute and storage nodes to operate at edge locations while sharing a centralized control plane. The upgrade ensures that workloads remain strategically positioned closer to operational needs, improving performance and reducing latency, while benefiting from the advanced capabilities of RHOSO 18.

This feature will enable organizations to maintain the advantages of the DCN architecture during and after the adoption, ensuring minimal disruption and seamless integration of remote nodes with the centralized control plane in RHOSO.
