Measure the performance of OpenShift-on-OpenStack and more specifically the performance penalty of double encapsulation (OVN in OVN) in conditions emulating real-world scenarios.

Expected tasks:

• collaborate with Product Management and TAMs to identify a set of target use-cases
• collaborate with the Performance teams in Red Hat to identify a method and a set of relevant metrics
• build a library of deployments including OpenShift-on-OpenStack and baremetal OpenShift
• execute and document a battery of performance tests

Acceptance Criteria

• Production of a set of metrics describing OpenShift-on-OpenStack's performance regarding dataplane network throughput, in ideal conditions and possibly through a set of potentially disrupting events (upgrades and/or simulated outages), as compared to benchmarks recorded in environments not affected by double encapsulation.
