      Goal

      • The goal is to add an OpenStack platform in HyperShift aka Hosted Control Planes.

      Why is this important?

      • Customers can benefit from having control planes VMs replaced by a baremetal OpenShift deployment.

      Scenarios

      \

      1. User can deploy HostedControlPlane with nodes running on OpenStack. MVP applies here, we don't support very complicated use cases for now.

      Acceptance Criteria

      • CI - MUST be running successfully with tests automated
      • Release Technical Enablement
      • We need HyperShift folks to have access to our QE's CI in order to claim full support.

      Dependencies (internal and external)

      1. CAPO work might be a dependency - we need CAPO to be able to deploy network, SGs and VMs

      Previous Work (Optional):

      1. https://github.com/openshift/hypershift/pull/3243

      Open questions::

      1. How to solve MTU issues - we probably need them configurable.
      2. Do we have everything from CAPO that we need?
