      Goal

      Use application credentials by default

      Why is this important?

Application credential avoids the OpenStack user’s password being available in an application configuration , which provides better management of authentication. To authenticate using it only the application credential ID and secret are needed, no user’s password is provided. More details can be found in the OpenStack documentation.

      Scenarios

      • Directly define application credentials on clouds.yaml and expect them to be used
      • Make the installer create application credentials and use it when a password is defined on the clouds.yaml

      Acceptance Criteria

      Dependencies (internal and external)

      N/A

      Previous Work (Optional):

In 4.12 it was verified that using Application credentials in an OpenShift cluster running on OpenStack works ok
