In order to provide a fast datapath, users want to be able to install OCP on OSP nodes with secondary NICs attached to a Layer 2 provider network. First, we will need to discover and define what we already support, then work to clear as many hurdles as possible.
This epic has the following requirements:
- IPI support
- UPI support
- OSP Nodes can be deployed with a provider network NIC
- OSP Nodes can attach more than one provider network NIC
- Pod permissions remain the same as a normal install
- Compatibility with OVN services:
- DHCP or IPAM services for VM IP addresses
- static VM MAC/IP with config-drive
- Security groups for provider networks
- QE is able to verify
The following user stories apply: (TODO: egarcia): Simplify this use case
- L2 networking with provider network VLANs to pods on secondary interfaces
- separate NIC or pair of NICs for secondary interfaces
