Implement update capabilities for your application to make sure it can be updated and patches can be applied quickly when vulnerabilities are discovered. Consider the following guidelines:

• Provide both automatic and manual updates. Both should be considered to give users the freedom to update their applications/devices by choice, or to set it up to be done automatically.

• Provide a capability for scheduled updates. This helps users update at a preferred interval.
