In the interest of being able to backport this functionality, since we believe it will fix a number of bugs on older releases, we want to do an initial implementation that is relatively unintrusive. In this case that should look like a new systemd watch that will trigger the existing resolv-prepender service without modifying any of the other parts of resolv-prepender.
