For 4.11, https://github.com/openshift/machine-config-operator/pull/3016 is leaving the rendering functions for the ENABLE_UNICAST logic so that if an old template that still uses those functions gets rendered with a newer MCO binary, it won't fail. In 4.12, we just need to go back and remove those functions completely since even the old templates won't use them anymore.
