The container can have Maven repositories configured by defining MAVEN_REPO_URL, but this is not documented in the module.yaml file.

The feature itself could potentially be considered deprecated: it has been superseded by MAVEN_REPOS (which takes a comma-separated list of ID names); on the other hand, that feature has no test coverage (and I'm unclear if/how/how well it works).
