USER STORY:
- As a partner I would like to be able to use OPCT to validate OCP on metal nodes using Agnostic/None, Baremetal and External as platform types and HighlyAvailable, Compact and SingleReplica topologies, so I can certify this topology in my catalog.
From VCSP Partner Program:
"Installation - OpenShift runs on platform, without integration to the platform’s features
- See RHCOS Platform Support for details. For baremetal hardware certification for OpenShift, refer to Red Hat OpenStack Platform and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform bare metal hardware certification."
DESCRIPTION:
OPCT Features to evaluate running on Bare Metal (BM):
- Run OPCT with regular mode <default>
- Run OPCT with upgrade mode
- Run OPCT with disconnected mode
Variants to be tested:
- HA
- Compact
Required:
Run OPCT Validation in the OCP installation with Bare Metal as a Platform Type:
- Steps to run OPCT in BM Platform in regular mode
- Steps to run OPCT in BM Platform in upgrade mode
- Steps to run OPCT in BM Platform in disconnected mode
- Steps to run OPCT in BM Platform in disconnected-upgrade mode
Nice to have:
...
ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA:
- Document with steps to run OPCT in BM cluster, describing any limitations and risks it might have
ENGINEERING DETAILS:
- There are an effort to run BM cluters installed by Assisted Installer. More details on the Slack channel: https://redhat-internal.slack.com/archives/C04TK9MMUA1
