Perform pre-flight checks before installation to check certain configurations for correctness

Goals (aka. expected user outcomes)

Extend and enhance the Installer's 'pre-flight' verification checks to detect early failures of clusters installation due to improper inputs and enable to bypass validations when requested.

Requirements (aka. Acceptance Criteria):

Detailed requirements will be defined in the child Epics of this Feature as additional spikes and investigation will be required to determine the scope of these checks.

Use Cases (Optional):

Detect potential installation failures as soon as possible to reduce the time the user needs to wait to get notified about a failure installation.

Background

Users get often frustrated when getting installation errors due to some inputs given to the installer manifest or infrastructure configuration that are notified late in the installation process.

Documentation Considerations

The output of the error itself must be sufficient for the user to understand the error.
