Feature Overview (aka. Goal Summary)  

While Windows Containers has csi-proxy support in place to provide a method to install and utilise CSI drivers we don't currently provide any out of the box storage support. With the move to CSI and the removal of intree drivers that means that there is a regression in the storage options that Ret Hat provide and support in a WMCO environment. This feature will attempt to address that by providing support for CSI SMB driver, most likely as a Red Hat supported operator installed as a day 2 option. It is desirable, though not mandatory, to have the driver installed OOTB i.e. at install time to reduce admin tasks.

A CSI driver provided perhaps via an operator that enable SMB filesystems to be used and supported in a WMCO environment.
