Feature Overview

This feature will allow using the existing automation with the bare metal operator to deploy new nodes on clusters deployed with UPI with platform none.

Goals

As an OpenShift cluster administrator I want to add bare metal nodes to an existing UPI-deployed cluster with Redfish and virtual media provisioning.

Background, and strategic fit

Customers using UPI with large clusters must add/remove nodes often. The automation we provide with IPI via the bare metal operator isn't available for these clusters since it only supports cluster with platform baremetal deployed from IPI. This feature will allow them introducing the automation infrastructure and leverage virtual media as shipped and used in the bare metal operator, not requiring the customer to manage their own provisioning solution.
