This request is for an option to not allow the installation process of a baremetal host to wipe the filesystem of luns/disks that are attached to it.

      https://docs.redhat.com/en/documentation/openshift_container_platform/4.16/html/deploying_installer-provisioned_clusters_on_bare_metal/ipi-install-expanding-the-cluster

When adding a baremetal node, if the node has been zoned into a fiber channel SAN environment with disks attached, the installation will attempt to wipe the disk/luns that are attached.

Customer is using a 3rd party CSI driver, which has a few luns that are used as heartbeats for the other nodes to communicate with. When they attempted to add a new baremetal node that was zoned, the installation process wiped the disk and removed the heartbeat causing instability across the entire cluster.
