Feature Overview
Develop a module/tool to determine the upgrade path from a cluster's current OpenShift version to a desired target version providing a clear updates/upgrades path, similar to the tool available on Red Hat's website https://access.redhat.com/labs/ocpupgradegraph/update_path/
By integrating with oc-mirror, the tool focuses solely on identifying the necessary images for the upgrade. This modular approach ensures that oc-mirror handles image mirroring, while the upgrade path tool determines which images are needed.
Why is this important?
With this integration oc-mirror will provide a clear and efficient upgrade path, minimizing potential disruptions during the upgrade process.
Starting in OpenShift 4.16 oc-mirror notifies users via a CLI message about the requirements for supporting upgrades, but users still need to manually do that (OCPSTRAT-1306). With this integration oc-mirror will automatically identify the necessary images for OpenShift upgrades.
