Feature Overview (aka. Goal Summary)  

There are well-known metrics and tasks (e.g., disk latency, network latency, etcd database size, etcd defragmentation & compaction) with clear linear correlation to etcd parameters and expected behavior. With the information provided by the well-known metrics, the etcd-operator should be able to:

• select the appropriate latency profile
• select the appropriate etcd database size
• adjust timers for the liveness probes
• optimize logic for the automated defragmentation & compaction process to minimize impact on production clusters

Goals (aka. expected user outcomes)

• Provide the ability for the etcd-operator to recommend selectable profiles to use based on metrics observed over a pre-determined period of time.
• Provide the ability for the etcd-operator to optimize the defragmentation schedule based on observed conditions and behaviors.
