Feature Overview (aka. Goal Summary)  

The openshift-gitops team is building a small footprint gitops agent for microshift. This needs docs and QE work from the microshift team which is covered using this feature. 

Goals (aka. expected user outcomes)

The goals are:

• Have a new  section in the microshift "Running applications" booking "Managing applications using gitops".
  • How to add gitops "dnf install microshift-gitops"
  • How to deploy a sample application (use e.g argo Application CRD pointing to the guestbook application)
  • For more background on gitops, point to the ocp gitops
  • Document the limitations of the microshift gitops implementation, compared to the openshift-gitops solution:  no argo console, no multi-cluster/multi-tennant support.
• Have a minimal QE smoke test:
  • Install microshift-gitops, deploy sample application and verify that the deployment of the app is happening.

gitops is targeting a the 1.12 release end of march 2024. would be nice to have at least initial "install" docs by then.

Advanced documentation (needs to be part of the openshift-gitops docs)

In-depth QE - we assume argocd has been tested extensivley by the gitops team already.
