Over the past year or so we've had discussions about upstream contribution (kubebuilder, controller-runtime, controller-tools) and what these contributions mean to the operator-sdk project.

To increase contributions and collective team knowledge since it's been observed an uptick in contribution, the team will start capturing GitHub issues being assigned (except troubleshooting/support issues) in JIRA, with "[UPSTREAM]" in the title.
