The upstream kubernetes community is large and expanding. In OpenShift we maintain a number of downstream forks of upstream projects. Across the project, and specifically within Openstack as Infra DFG we have not historically made the best use of this upstream work.

This feature aims to identify areas where we can improve how we consume and contribute to upstream projects. The goal is to improve the productivity of our teams by reducing the duplication of effort in feature development, bug fixing, and automated testing.

We also aim to increase the influence of the team with upstream projects. This should help reduce the time it takes us to propose and merge changes upstream.

When this feature is implemented, we expect that:

      • We automatically incorporate upstream development into our downstream repositories
      • ...TODO...
