Epic Goal
With Split filesystem the ephemeral storage can be available separate from root. However, kubelet garbage collection (GC) operates only on root. This means, if the split is used to store images, they will never be cleaned-up by kubelet GC.
- Pursue upstream discussion for allowing image GC in partition other than root.
- Propose KEP and get an agreement on design.
- Create a plan to implement and follow-through the agreed KEP.
