Epic Goal
With V4.12, the LVMS operator cluster service version declares support for disconnected installations:
operators.openshift.io/infrastructure-features: '["disconnected"]
However, there seems to be no explicit QE / Testcase for this feature.
The goal of this epic to add QE / Testcases to ensure we are in line and comfortable with this declarations. There are already customers demanding LVM Support for disconnected installations, so having this capabilty is important, and it should be no big technical challenge (in case we find out it does not work already).
Why is this important?
There are already customers demanding LVM Support for disconnected installations, so having this capability is important, and it should be no big technical challenge (in case we find out it does not work already).
Scenarios
- Add LVMS to a disconnected cluster, with the necessary images replicated into an intermediate registry, like with all other layered operators.
Acceptance Criteria
- Test case documented and executed.
- If easily achievable (e.g. by adding this to other OCP disconn test pipelines), test automation is nice to have
- Red Hat Operator Catalog lists LVMS as "supports disconnected" (should happen automatically)
Previous Work (Optional):
- LVMS is inherited from the ODF team (now with IBM). In that team, Daniel Horak.
- Boris Ranto stated that the mirror pipeline already tests certain aspects (image availability / references).
