Epic Goal
- Reduce the total time it takes to boot an SNO.
Why is this important?
- Edge customers are requesting faster boot times for SNO to support quicker upgrades.
Scenarios
- Recipient has been upgrade via LCA and is rebooted. Time to reboot is what makes the Service Interruption for customers so it should be minimized.
Acceptance Criteria
- Boot Time Core Timings on Metal identified
- Bottlenecks identified, and tackled in reasonable effort if possible, otherwise follow ups are created
Dependencies (internal and external)
- Working IBU Seed Generation and virtualized Environment setup for iterating over measurement tooling
Previous Work (Optional):
Open questions:
- Do we have specific boot time requirements from customers that we need to meet?
We have some requirements for boot time based on SLAs from Verizon, we should clarify what exactly we are relying on here.
