Time Box: 1 sprint

Adaptable topology is a cluster-topology mode that adjusts cluster control-plane and infrastructure behavior based on the current number of control-plane and worker nodes. The goal of this spike is to update the enhancement proposal with the answers to the following questions.

Research Questions

• How do we validate operators handle transitions correctly end-to-end?

Involved Teams

• Control Plane (cluster-etcd-operator)
• Operator Teams (console, ingress, TBD)
• OLM (operator lifecycle manager)

Acceptance Criteria

• Design comprehensive test strategy for topology transitions
• Define CI test lanes and coverage requirements
• Identify pre-transition and post-transition test scenarios
• Document operator compatibility validation approach
• Update enhancement proposal with test plan details
