      Background

Now that we have the ability to configure this downstream, it would be good to be able to configure it upstream as well.

Currently they have it enabled by default, so we will need to allow this to be configured, maintain backwards compatibility, but also allow it to be disabled.

      Some upstream discussion: https://github.com/kubernetes-sigs/cluster-api-provider-azure/issues/2401

      Steps

      • Work out how to have a disabled option in with the API discussed in the upstream issue
      • Contribute the options to configure it, maintaining on by default behaviour

      Stakeholders

      • Cluster Infra
