This is a clone of issue OCPBUGS-72553. The following is the description of the original issue:

Currently, any boot image configuration specified in spec.ManagedBootImages is directly reflected into status.ManagedBootImagesStatus. This means that an admin opinion for the standard MachineSet manager could override the platform default for a ControlPlaneMachineSet machine manager(or vice versa). These opinions should be individually evaluated, accumulated and then displayed in the status field.
