Description of problem:

MachineConfigOperator unexpectedly reboots dozens (i.e. 76 compute nodes), moving them from a 37-days-old rendered MachineConfig to a 70-days-old one.

How reproducible:

N/A

Actual results:

Dozens of compute nodes being rebooted without notice, leading to sudden business-critical workload being rebooted without proper planning.

Expected results:

Prevent nodes from being unexpectedly rebooted into a ancient 70-days-old MachineConfig.
