      * Previously, you needed to update vSAN files to 8.0 P05 or later to enable clusters running {product-title} 4.19 to mount the network file system (NFS) volumes that were exported from the VMWare vSAN Files. With this release, you do not need to upgrade existing vSAN File Services versions to mount VMWare vSAN File volumes. (link:https://issues.redhat.com/browse/OCPBUGS-55978[OCPBUGS-55978])

      Description of problem:

      Recent RHCOS / RHEL 9.6 cannot mount vSphere NFS volumes.

      $ mount -t nfs4 -o hard,sec=sys,vers=4,minorversion=1 vsanfs1.devqe.ibmc.devcluster.openshift.com:/vsanfs/52cd353e-1c9c-1222-8e93-a8d5a6906f97 /mnt/test

      How reproducible:

      Always

      Additional info:

      • Full dmesg with nfs client logs will follow, I can see some errors in
      [17557.787608] decode_server_caps: xdr returned 10036!
      ...
      [17557.787642] nfs4_map_errors could not handle NFSv4 error 10036
      • RHCOS 4.18 / RHEL 9.4 with the same NFS share worked
      • The NFS server is VMware shared volume, who knows what it really is.
