A Pod, most typically a prometheus pod on the cluster, stays in InitStage with the Event message:

FailedAttachVolume pod/prometheus-k8s-1 AttachVolume.Attach failed for volume "pvc-6ba20351-2628-4586-99af-4cb927de8737" : volume attachment is being deleted

Howver when looking at the node on which the VolumeAttachment is poiting to, we don't see any EC2 mount points or actually block devices which would explain why `volume attachment is being deleted`  is not returning.
