Description of problem:
The initial cluster was built with Rack 1 and Rack 2 (Intel) and then expanded by adding Rack 3 (AMD). The upgrade started from version 4.12.33 to version 4.12.48. The upgrade process was progressing smoothly until it began upgrading the nodes in Rack 3. MCO installed the images and then performed a first boot. However, upon selecting a new kernel in Grub, the screen became blank (with no cursor blinking).
