OBSDOCS (Jan 22 - Feb 12) #248
Description of problem:
no mention of monitoringPlugin component for moving pods
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
How reproducible:
very
Steps to Reproduce:
Open docs
Actual results:
This may not be the section for it, but it was unclear that monitoringPlugin is considered a 'component' in the monitoring stack. This became an issue when working with a client on 4.14 and the monitoring-plugin pods didn't move to the infra nodes with the other components.
Expected results:
Either monitoringPlugin is added in the components section here: https://docs.openshift.com/container-platform/4.14/monitoring/configuring-the-monitoring-stack.html#configurable-monitoring-components_configuring-the-monitoring-stack Or as a note somewhere in this section: https://docs.openshift.com/container-platform/4.14/monitoring/configuring-the-monitoring-stack.html#moving-monitoring-components-to-different-nodes_configuring-the-monitoring-stack The documentation DOES have some reference to monitoringPlugin as a 'component' in other sections, but it's not referenced in the section linked above: https://docs.openshift.com/container-platform/4.14/monitoring/configuring-the-monitoring-stack.html#specifying-limits-and-resource-requests-for-monitoring-components_configuring-the-monitoring-stack https://docs.openshift.com/container-platform/4.14/machine_management/creating-infrastructure-machinesets.html#infrastructure-moving-monitoring_creating-infrastructure-machinesets
