      Feature Overview:

Insights goal - Provide a certified collection to receive and handle Insights events as part of Event Driven Ansible (EDA). The goal is to publish the certified collection on Automation Hub, targeting RH Summit 2023 (May 23-26). EDA provides different sources (e.g. Kafka, webhook) to receive events from, and end-users can manually configure their integrations. The proposed integration can be manually implemented today using webhook - see blog post. The certified collection will provide an easy-to-use and standardized RH Insights integration, and expand the list of available EDA partner integrations.

      Parent Insights Market Problem

      • RHIN-883: Red Hat customers want a deeper Insights experience involving Ansible Automation

      Goals:

      • Review Insights Advisor events, verify integration with EDA
      • Provide common examples for Advisor events (e.g. creation of a SNOW ticket from received the events)
      • Verify EDA integration type in HCC (consoledot) under Settings > Integrations

      Background and Strategic Fit:

This would contribute to RH solutions, allowing seamless integration between products from different BUs. It would also make it easier for customers to consume RH products, and reduce risks and support requirements by providing a certified and controlled integration (rather than relying on custom implementation from customers).

The intent is to go through the EDA collection certified process in the same manner than a partner would. This documentation describes the process, including testing pipeline, etc.

      Docs:

READMEs in the Collections are the only mandatory documentation from Ansible perspective. This should be clear and provides guidance on getting started and using the collection.

Existing HCC product documentation on Integrations & Notifications could be amended to cover for this additional integration type.
