OpenShift shall enable its users to observe different distrubuted traces depending on the tenant utilizing the platform.
User shall be able to hide/show distributed traces depending on who is watching.
The OpenShift distributed tracing platform needs to provide a solution in terms of functionality but also documentation and relevant how-to configuration guides on the following scenarios.
It might be that OpenShift already offers some of them, but how to achieve them is obfuscated or not tested.
Scenarios
- "Friendly mode": Application is run on a shared cluster from the same organization, so the added value is just to choose, without major security requirements, which distributed traces to visualize depending on the interest of the tenant.
- "Secure mode": Application is deployed on a shared cluster in the hybrid cloud, and the tracing information shall not be available to anyone without proper access.
- Sensitive data is only available to certain users.
