Sometimes we might want to raise an alert in OpenShift when some event fires or a variable value is true. In this case, a metric isn't very relevant. It could be useful if we could define the alert manager to create an alert based on an event that is fired from the code rather than using Prometheus and metrics.

For example: when this kind of event: https://book-v1.book.kubebuilder.io/beyond_basics/creating_events.html is fired from an operator, it appears in the "Events" section on the OpenShift UI, it could be really helpful if there was a friendly way to make it appear in the "Alerts" section instead.
