1. Proposed title of this feature request
Openshift 4 remote_write more authentication/authorization options support
2. What is the nature and description of the request?
For Configuring remote write storage <endpoint_authentication_credentials> }}Currently supported authentication methods are basic authentication ({{{}basicAuth) and client TLS (tlsConfig) authentication But Based on - https://prometheus.io/docs/prometheus/latest/configuration/configuration/#remote_write
In future extend supported list with:
- `oauth2` (whole section)
- `authorization` (whole section)
3. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
Without having this capabilities enabled we will not be able to integrate with remote thanos receiver exposed by customer where he aggregates telemetry data and creates dashboards, pager duty etc. in centralized location for his system. Customer has already thanos receiver available and available authentication mechanism are those that we are missing in openshift.
Customers are looking to integration as soon as possible since he is providing missing critical environments and cannot afford of having any undetected failures
