We have been facing recurring issues with the OpenShift QE Jenkins environment due to strict quota limits. These limits frequently cause job failures and delays, and we are unable to increase the quota further since OpenShift has enforced a hard limit on it.
As discussed, it’s time to migrate all test jobs from the OpenShift QE Jenkins to our Migration QE Jenkins instance to ensure better reliability, performance, and scalability.
This story outlines the setup, migration, validation, and cleanup activities associated with this transition.
Objectives:
- Reduce job failures caused by Jenkins quota issues.
- Ensure all test pipelines run reliably on Migration QE Jenkins.
Acceptance Criteria:
- All existing test jobs currently running on OpenShift QE Jenkins are migrated to Migration QE Jenkins.
- All migrated jobs run successfully without quota-related issues.
- Job configurations, credentials, and dependencies are verified and functional.
- Documentation and Jenkinsfile references are updated to point to the new environment.
- The migration is communicated to all relevant stakeholders.
