NetObserv - Sprint 216, NetObserv - Sprint 217, NetObserv - Sprint 218
In the NetFlow table, when you filter, you often are trying to see if there are any flows and if so, how much traffic is flowing. In other words, it should provide the total amount of bytes/packets/flows and the rate over a time range. Perhaps this can be displayed at the bottom of the screen.
This would address a major use case using the NetFlow table and provide insight into the traffic flows of a cluster. In general, it answers question such as:
- How many bytes per second is coming in and/or going out of a pod?
- Is there any traffic using insecure protocols such as http, ftp and telnet?
If sampling is used, then an estimate is given.
Note, this story focuses only on stats that can be extracted from the performed query itself. More elaborated stats are planned in follow-up NETOBSERV-225.
This is just textual stats, no chart here.
It is not yet decided how they should be displayed. Could be a stats icon + popover next to the refresh button, for instance. We can experiment and involve UXD.
