Epic Goal: Guarantee a compatible OSSM version is installed for Gateway API
Why is this important?
The ingress operator manages OSSM operator and Istio configuration for Gateway API support, but these resources can change in future releases in potentially incompatible ways. In order to guarantee that the OSSM and Istio versions are compatible with the ingress operator in a given OpenShift release, the ingress operator should install a known good version, rather than the latest.
Acceptance Criteria
- CI - MUST be running successfully with tests automated
- Release Technical Enablement - Provide necessary release enablement
