This epic encompasses the performance evaluation of HAProxy, specifically in the context of the transition to RHEL 9 which exclusively supports OpenSSL 3.x, contrasting with the OpenSSL 1.1 version used in RHEL 8. We are expected to transition to a RHEL 9 base image for container builds in OpenShift 4.16. Our objective is to conduct thorough perf/scale testing to understand the performance differential, if any, introduced by OpenSSL 3.x.
