      https://docs.redhat.com/en/documentation/assisted_installer_for_openshift_container_platform/2025/html/installing_openshift_container_platform_with_the_assisted_installer/installing-with-ui#configuring-hosts_installing-with-ui

During attempts to install OpenShift Container Platform 4.18 on s390x or ppc64le via the Assisted Installer web UI, the option for "Cluster-managed networking" is either not selectable or shows a tooltip stating "Cluster-managed networking is not supported when using " (with the architecture name missing). This unclear message makes it difficult to understand the specific limitation.

Based on troubleshooting and internal information (Jira issues MGMT-20349 and MGMT-20324 - internal references), it appears that "Cluster Managed Networking," which involves the Assisted Installer automatically provisioning load balancers and ingress, is not compatible with the s390x architecture in OCP 4.18. It's suspected this also applies to ppc64le.

This lack of support for the automated networking feature, combined with unclear documentation regarding its availability per architecture within the Assisted Installer, creates confusion during the installation process for our customers and users.

We are seeking clarification on the official support status of "Cluster-managed networking" for s390x and ppc64le architectures in OpenShift 4.18 and later versions when using the Assisted Installer. We also request that documentation be updated to clearly state the supported networking options and any limitations for each architecture, and that the Assisted Installer UI prompt be improved to provide a clear and accurate reason when "Cluster-managed networking" is not available.
