The changes needed to add multi-arch support for the kubernetes-nmstate operator where submitted upstream with commit [1]. However, the repo used for building the operator for Openshift is openshift/kubernetes-nmstate which syncs over the changes from the kubernetes repo once per release.

AC: we need to make sure the changes are synced over so that a MA operator is built for Openshift.
