Description of problem:
Non OS disk remain Offline after migrating Windows Server 2022 VM from VMware to Openshift Virtualization using MTV
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.10.5
How reproducible:
100 %
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create Windows Server 2022 VM in VMware with multiple Disks attached. 2. Migrate the VM to Openshift Virtualization using MTV 3. Check the Non OS disk, it appears Offline.
Actual results:
Non OS disks remain Offline.
Expected results:
All the disks including the Non OS disks should be Online after migration.
Additional info:
It looks like a Regression as the issue was fixed in MTV 2.6.4 https://issues.redhat.com/browse/MTV-1299. However its still reproducible with. OCV 4.20.6 MTV 2.10.5 - Workaround is before initiating the migration (MTV) from the source provider, set the SAN POLICY=OnlineAll. Open a Command Prompt or PowerShell session. ~~~ 1. Open the disk partition tool: C:> diskpart 2. Check that the SAN policy is set to "Offline Shared": DISKPART> SAN SAN Policy : Offline Shared 3. Change the policy to OnlineAll: DISKPART> SAN POLICY=OnlineAll ~~~ - Start the migration (MTV) from OCP. Upon completion of the migration, log into the VM and check the Disk status in the Disk Management utility. - Same Workaround steps needs to be performed if the issue is faced on a Migrated VM. Reboot the VM after changing the SAN POLICY to OnlineAll
