with storage offload MTV now can migrate RDM disks, however these disks are mapped to the OpenShift VM as "disk".

In many cases when an RDM disk is used in VMWare it is because the application needs to send SGIO commands. This maps to the OpenShift world to the RDM being mapped as a LUN in the VM.

This feature is to request that MTV adds a flag to express the preference that RDMs disks should be mapped to LUNs.
