      Using RDM is viable for cold migration, but it seems that vVol, is supported and configured by the storage vendor can allow some storage copy actions into a LUN from the vsphere API, while the VM is running

      • what does using vVol mean for current VMs. Do they need any action if they are on VMFS (migration to vVol?)
      • is migrating into a separate LUN is supported? Who creates that LUN?
